Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., told Hunter Biden's former business associate that he's not a "partisan hack" or a Russian agent in response to claims made about him stemming from purported discoveries made on Biden's laptop.
Fox News published an email Khanna sent to Tony Bobulinski, in which the congressman pledged his support of the man who has come out in recent days with documents that he said indicated Joe Biden at least knew about his son's business dealings with China and Russia, which contradict what the former vice president has said.
"Tony, hope you are doing okay. I did give an on the record statement to The NY Times that I know you, you have always acted honorably with me, and you and other family members supported me. I have told any media outlets that have asked the same thing," the email reads.
Khanna added that he has "refused to comment on the details of your allegations because I don't have personal knowledge about that, but have said I respect your service to our country and that you have never been a 'partisan hack' in our interactions and have talked about putting country over party.
"I also have made it clear that I do not think you are a Russian agent. I will continue to make that statement to any media that asks."
Fox News reported that Bobulinski has donated to the campaigns of Khanna and other Democrats.
After the New York Post began publishing what it said were documents and photos from a laptop it said belonged to Hunter Biden, the elder Biden said he never discussed business dealings with his son. Bobulinski, however, said that claim is untrue.
"That's a blatant lie," Bobulinski said.
In response, some Democrats have accused Bobulinski of trying to take down Biden just days before the election and claimed the laptop is a product of Russian disinformation.
