A new video ad from a political action committee that supports Florida Gov. Rick Scott touts the great strides in job creation the Sunshine State has enjoyed during Scott’s first two years in office.
Addressing a group of workers at a Mitsubishi facility, Scott announces that the unemployment rate in Florida dropped to 7.8 percent in January, down from 11.1 percent before he took office in January 2011.
For the first time in five years, Florida’s rate is below the national average, Scott states in the ad airing on all Florida news sites. It is sponsored by Let’s Get to Work, a Tallahassee-based PAC.
Scott is determined, he says, “to make sure Florida is the best place for anybody to do business.”
The governor credits Florida’s new policy of lower taxes, less regulation, and a positive business attitude for the creation of 282,000 new private-sector jobs in the state since he took office.
“It’s working,” he says. “We will be the No. 1 place for families and good jobs.”
