The Republican National Committee hit a new fundraising record for the month of March, the party announced Monday.
The RNC raised $24 million in March, which is the most money the group has ever raised in the month of March.
Most of the March donations were small-dollar amounts, according to The Hill. The party reports 73 percent of the March donations totaled $200 or less.
RNC Chief of Staff Richard Walters attributed the strong fundraising efforts to “unprecedented support” for President Donald Trump.
“Chairwoman [Ronna] McDaniel and the campaign deserve a lot of credit for these early investments in prospecting. But you need fuel to power the fundraising machine we have built, and that fuel is the unprecedented support for President Trump. None of this would be possible without the enthusiasm that exists for him and his leadership,” Walters said in a statement.
The March total is about $2 million shy of what the party raised in February. In the first quarter, Trump’s re-election campaign and the RNC reported $212 million in donations. Trump’s campaign coffers have more than $240 million.
