Republican Pennsylvania Rep. Charlie Dent said President Donald Trump has a "lack of impulse control" that was a cause for concern for lawmakers during recent budget talks on Capitol Hill, The Hill reported Saturday.
"The spontaneity and lack of impulse control are areas of concern for lots of members on both sides of the aisle," said Dent. "Disorder, chaos, instability, uncertainty, intemperate statements are not conservative virtues in my opinion.”
Trump tweeted Thursday he was considering a veto for last week's spending bill that was working its way through Congress.
"I am considering a VETO of the Omnibus Spending Bill based on the fact that the 800,000 plus DACA recipients have been totally abandoned by the Democrats (not even mentioned in Bill) and the BORDER WALL, which is desperately needed for our National Defense, is not fully funded," Trump tweeted.
House Speaker Paul Ryan met with Trump to encourage him to back the legislation and on Friday Trump did sign the $1.3 trillion spending package. But Trump warned lawmakers he would "never sign another bill like this again."
"There are a lot of things we shouldn't have had in this bill but we were, in a sense, forced if we want to build our military," Trump said at a news conference Friday. "There are some things we should have in the bill. But I say to Congress, I will never sign another bill like this again."
