Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden has taken a significant lead over President Donald Trump in the latest survey from Rasmussen Reports, a polling group that the president often touts.
Rasmussen, which just two weeks ago conducted a poll that showed Trump leading by a single point, now shows Biden ahead with a double-digit lead giving him a majority among likely voters.
- 52% support Biden.
- 40% back Trump.
- 4% prefer a third-party candidate.
- 4% are undecided.
The polling firm notes that "Biden has now cleared the 50% mark for two weeks in a row, while Trump has fallen to his lowest level of support since the first week of White House Watch in early July."
Trump's approval rating has also continued its decline "since his nomination of [Judge Amy Coney] Barrett on September 26 to replace Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg," now hitting 44% approval to 54% disapproval.
Rasmussen surveyed 2,500 likely voters from Sept. 30 to Oct. 1 and from Oct. 4-6, 2020, with a margin of error of +/- 2 percentage points.
