Mitt Romney continues to maintain his lead in the Arizona Republican primary campaign, even though the race has tightened dramatically during the past two weeks, a new poll by
Rasmussen Reports shows.
Former Massachusetts Gov. Romney has the support of 39 percent of likely Republican voters in Arizona, and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum had 31 percent, according to Rasmussen Reports.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is a distant third with 15 percent of the vote, followed by Texas Rep. Ron Paul at 7 percent. The remainder of voters surveyed said they prefer some other candidate or are undecided.
The telephone survey of 750 voters was conducted Feb. 16, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
