The Great American Alliance, the offspring of the Great America PAC that backed President Donald Trump during the campaign, is spending $3.5 million on advertising in support of Neil Gorsuch's nomination to the Supreme Court, the Washington Examiner reports.
The group has targeted the money for television and digital ads in Florida, Missouri, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan and may expand the advertising buy, the website notes.
"We're gearing up for the Gorsuch fight, followed up by the tax and regulatory reform fights we think is going to be coming," says Eric Beach, co-chairman of the Great America Alliance.
"We built a very unique data file, about 30 million records of Trump supporters throughout the election, so we test them constantly on the issues that matter the most and they're very pleased with the Gorsuch nomination."
One ad zeroes in on Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill from Missouri, according to the Examiner. It details Gorsuch's accomplishments and then flashes an image of McCaskill.
"Tell Sen. McCaskill not to play games and support Judge Gorsuch. America deserves progress, not political games," the ad says.
Meanwhile, McClatchy newspapers reports the National Rifle Association has purchased $1 million in television ads to highlight the importance of the Supreme Court's makeup to gun rights as Gorsuch's confirmation hearings get set to start.
The ads, which began airing on Tuesday, will run through March 22. Gorsuch's confirmation hearing starts March 20.
Gorsuch had stressed in 2012: "Gun possession is often lawful and sometimes even protected as a matter of constitutional right."
