President Donald Trump on Friday blasted the leak of an "off the record" remark he made about trade negotiations with Canada, tweeting that "this powerful understanding was blatantly violated."

"Wow, I made off the record comments to Bloomberg concerning Canada, and this powerful understanding was blatantly violated. … At least Canada knows where I stand."

Trump's comment to Bloomberg was that he would not compromise with Canada on NAFTA but he demanded they be kept off the record because "it's going to be so insulting they're not going to be able to make a deal."
