Republican Sen. Rob Portman is well ahead of his Democratic challenger Ted Strickland in Ohio's Senate race, according to the latest Quinnipiac University poll.
The results:
- Portman, 56 percent.
- Strickland, 38 percent.
Portman, the incumbent in the race who first took office in 2011, is getting support from all political parties, according to the poll. He has support from 96 percent of Republicans, 17 percent of Democrats, and 60 percent of independents.
In the same poll taken in mid-October, Portman had a 54 percent to 41 percent lead.
