Sixty-two percent of voters say President Donald Trump's administration is operating chaotically while 32 percent say it is running well, a new Politico/Morning Consult poll reveals.
The poll was conducted April 26-March 1. Ronny Jackson had withdrawn from consideration for secretary of the Department of Veteran Affairs on April 26 amid controversy.
Here are highlights from the poll:
- 29 percent of Republicans say the administration is running chaotically, compared to 69 percent who say it is operating well.
- 88 percent of Democrats say the administration is operating chaotically, while 9 percent say it is running well.
- 66 percent of independents believe the administration is running chaotically, compared to 25 percent who believe it is operating well.
- 25 percent of all those polled say the administration is doing an excellent or good job hiring and retaining qualified people; 18 percent say it is doing a fair job and 49 percent say it is doing poorly.
- 53 percent say Scott Pruitt should be removed as administrator for the Environmental Protection Agency, compared to 12 percent who disagree. 35 percent did not have an opinion on the issue.
- 59 percent say the U.S. should be part of the Paris climate agreement and 18 percent say it should not be.
- 42 percent approve of the job Trump is doing as president, while 53 percent disapprove approve.
The poll surveyed 1,991 registered voters. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.
