A majority of Americans think the Republican nominee will win the White House in 2012 making Barack Obama a one-term president.
Some 55 percent expect a GOP victory while 37 percent think Obama will win, a new
Washington Post-ABC News poll shows.
Among Republicans, 83 percent say the GOP nominee will win while just 58 percent of Democrats think Obama will prevail. Of Republicans who “strongly support” the tea party, 91 percent say the GOP will win the White House, The Washington Post polling blog Behind the Numbers reported.
The poll was conducted Sept. 29 to Oct. 2, and has a margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points. More data from the poll is to be released in tomorrow’s editions of the Post, the paper said.
