Poll: Half of Americans Oppose Trump Tax Plan

Fifty percent of Americans oppose President Donald Trump's plan for tax reform, while 33 percent support it, a new ABC News/Washington Post poll reveals.

Here are highlights from the survey:

• 60 percent believe Trump's tax cuts would mainly favor the wealthy.
• 13 percent say the package would favor the middle class.
• 2 percent believe it will help the poor.
• 17 percent believe it will treat everyone equally.
• 34 percent say Trump is doing an excellent or good job improving the tax system, while 56 percent said he is not

The poll was conducted Oct. 29-Nov. 1 — before House Republican leaders released their tax bill. The survey sampled 1,005 people. The margin of error is 3.5 percentage points.
