The majority of Democrats are "very enthusiastic" about voting in the upcoming midterm elections, according to a new poll from Marquette University Law School.

Pollsters asked respondents about their enthusiasm for the 2018 elections. "Very enthusiastic," the highest rating, was selected by:

  • 64 percent of Democrats.
  • 54 percent of Republicans.
  • 32 percent of independents.

In 2014, the law school conducted a similar poll. At that time, "very enthusiastic" was selected by:

  • 52 percent of Democrats.
  • 55 percent of Republicans.

The Marquette University Law School surveyed 800 registered voters from Feb. 25 through March 1, 2018 with a margin of error of 4.5 percentage points.
