The public blames congressional Republicans and President Barack Obama equally for the sequester-triggered flight delays and cancellations over the last couple of weeks, according to a new Pew Research Center poll.
The Pew survey released Monday found that 34 percent of 1,003 adults responding blame congressional Republicans for the Federal Aviation Administration's furloughing of air traffic controllers, which led to the delays. Another 32 percent blamed Obama,
reports The Hill.
The sequester cuts have been a point of contention between Republicans, Democrats, and Obama for months, but most survey participants said they were not following the budget fight that closely, even as the FAA began implementing unpaid leave furloughs in air traffic control towers across the country.
Only 36 percent said they were following the issue closely or fairly closely, but 64 percent said they weren't following the issue closely at all.
