As former Texas Gov. Rick Perry readies a second presidential campaign, his supporters have created a super PAC devoted to his 2016 ambitions.
A handful of former aides and allies on Thursday launched the Opportunity and Freedom PAC. The group can raise and spend unlimited amounts of money on Perry's behalf.
Senior adviser Austin Barbour tells the Associated Press that the organization will focus on re-introducing Perry to voters in key states across the country.
Perry has yet to declare his plans for 2016, but all signs point to a second run.
The Opportunity and Freedom PAC cannot legally coordinate with a prospective presidential campaign, but its chairmen include two of Perry's former chiefs of staff. Barbour said the organization would disclose all donors and spending as required by law.
