Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s schedule for his two-day trip to California is packed with six fundraising events, reports
Politico.
Perry’s host committee of donors has close to 100 names, including Dean Spanos and Gregory Slayton. One of the most interesting names on the list is Steve Papermaster, a Texas-based businessman President George W. Bush appointed in 2001 to the President’s Council of Advisors in Science and Technology.
Papermaster is among the first of Bush’s former presidential network to endorse Perry publicly. Because he is also very active in the Jewish community, this endorsement could foretell of Perry faring well with Jewish donors, reports Politico.
Perry’s stops include events in Los Angeles, San Diego, and the Silicon Valley.
