A deal she made Friday to prevent a major fight over Democratic leadership positions in the new Congress had done little to improve the paltry support remaining for her. She says unhappiness with her leadership is merely “a minor irritant,” sources tell Roll Call. But it’s hard to imagine she really believes that.
A group of Democrats remains unhappy with Pelosi’s decision to stay on as leader and appears determined to delay leadership elections scheduled for Wednesday, amend caucus rules to limit her power, or show their ire by rejecting bills in the lame duck session.
