House Speaker Nancy Pelosi denied claims that she and key Democrats had attempted to put a "wish list" into the coronavirus relief bill and said that the fourth bill, which will be about the nation's recovery from the pandemic, will be "specific to the coronavirus challenge."

"I do think that we've acted in bipartisan ways every step of the way, and we will continue to do so, the California Democrat said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe." "We may have our differences but we have to find our common ground."

Broadband will be essential, as will water systems and "other aspects of infrastructure that will help us get through all of this," said Pelosi.

She added that she wants to know what scientists had been telling President Donald Trump and when they told him, but that "right now we just have to focus on getting the job done."

"Conversations I had with scientists that if we don't go on a different course of action, we will have more deaths," Pelosi said. "I'm glad that the president is finally heeded, I guess, the numbers. One set of numbers or another, whatever they may be, may have had him heed the guidance of the scientists. Long overdue, but nonetheless, let's go forward with that."

She also called on everyone to "work together" to get equipment and stimulus checks out to people who need them so their anxiety is relieved.

She also said House Democrats will be pushing to allow voting by mail in the general election, and that was why they wanted language in the third bill to get resources to states to make that happen.

"We would hope that we would have also some funding, which was rejected, for the Postal Service," she said. "Integrity of the election system is central to our democracy. How anybody could oppose voting by mail raises so many other questions, but let's just be hopeful and have public opinion weigh in on this."
