House Speaker Paul Ryan said Wednesday he's OK with President Donald Trump ordering an investigation into allegations of voter fraud during the 2016 presidential election.
"I think it's fine," Ryan told Greta Van Susteren on MSNBC's "For The Record."
"First of all, I'm sure there is some fraud. If he believes there's a problem to be looked at, the right thing to do is get the evidence, the facts."
On Tuesday, Ryan all but discounted Trump's claim that millions of people living in the United States illegally cast votes in the election.
"I've already commented on that I've seen no evidence to that effect," Ryan said.
Ryan reiterated that statement during the interview with Van Susteren.
"I haven't seen evidence of this kind of widespread numbers that we've been hearing about," he said.
Trump announced on Twitter Wednesday morning that he plans to ask for a "major investigation" into voter fraud.
