A lawyer for Paul Manafort said Tuesday that there's "no chance" that the former campaign chairman for President Donald Trump would strike a deal with prosecutors, CBS News reports.
Kevin Downing made the assertion as jury selection began Tuesday for Manafort, on trial in Alexandria, Virginia, for bank fraud and tax evasion.
The 18-count indictment handed down on Manafort came amid special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into the alleged collusion between Trump's campaign and Russian operatives.
Manafort faces a second trial in September for money laundering, conspiracy and making false statements.
