Paul Manafort, President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman, has added a new defense attorney to his team, Politico reported.
The new attorney, Jay Nanavati, is a tax-crimes prosecutor. He filed a formal appearance Tuesday in a Virginia tax evasion and bank fraud case that special counsel Robert Mueller brought against Manafort, the website noted.
Manafort faces a July 10 trial on the indictment that Mueller filed against him, according to Politico,
In another case scheduled for Sept. 17, Manafort has been charged with money laundering and failing to register as a foreign agent over his work for Ukraine, The Washington Post reported.
