WASHINGTON — The nation's two political parties are seeing more dollars flowing to their bank accounts this year, although Democrats enjoy a fundraising edge over their opponents.
New federal data show that committees supporting President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats brought in $128 million since Jan. 1.
Their Republican counterparts are trailing in donations with about $105 million, but new outside groups like American Crossroads are on track to close that fundraising gap ahead of next year's election.
