NRCC Takes $20M Credit to Expand GOP Assault

The National Republican Congressional Committee is pulling out all the stops to help the GOP achieve a landslide victory in next month’s elections. The NRCC is taking out a $20 million line of credit from Wachovia, a committee official told Politico.

The NRCC intends to spend $12 million of the loan facility and to keep the rest in reserve. "This puts us in an even stronger financial position to remain on offense in the final days and remind voters of the costs of the Democrats' job-killing agenda," the official says.

The NRCC’s line of credit exceeds the $17 million facility recently secured by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. The House GOP campaign group already has announced that it will spend $50 million to air TV ads in districts.
