The National Rifle Association released a new ad Tuesday, warning Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton would take away people's guns, leaving them defenseless against intruders.

The ad shows a woman jumping out of bed after hearing breaking glass.

"She'll call 911. Average response time: 11 minutes," the narrator says. "Too late."

"She keeps a firearm in this safe for protection. But Hillary Clinton could take away her right to self-defense," the narrator says, followed by the safe disappearing.

"And with Supreme Court justices, Hillary can," the narrator continues. "Don't let Hillary leave you protected with nothing but a phone."

Costing $5 million, the NRA claims this is the group's largest ad buy this cycle. It will air nationally on cable, and regionally in Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia and Nevada.

"The fact is, too many families in America have suffered — and continue to suffer — from gun violence and the vast majority of the American people — including the vast majority of gun owners — believe we can and must do better," said Josh Schwerin, a spokesman for the Clinton campaign, according to The Washington Times.

Last week, Republican candidate Donald Trump questioned whether Clinton's personal security team should be armed.

"I think that her bodyguards should drop all weapons," he said. "I think they should disarm immediately . . . take their guns away. She doesn't want guns."

"Let's see what happens to her," Trump said. "Take their guns away, OK? It'd be very dangerous."
