North Korean president Kim Jong Un, known to be a heavy smoker, refrained from lighting up during last week's peace talks with his South Korean counterpart despite the plethora of ashtrays set out for him, the Daily Mail reported.
Kim, known to smoke during public events in his country, refrained from smoking out of respect for South Korean President Moon Jae-in. However, Kim did slip out during a banquet to light up, according to the report.
"Chairman Kim did not smoke even when there were no prying eyes from journalists and photographers around him," a Moon aide was quoted by local media.
'This was probably a gesture of respect towards President Moon who is much older than him."
