NBC Poll: Trump's National Support Hits 50% for 1st Time

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump has reached the 50 percent threshold for the first time in a new NBC News national poll.

The latest NBC News/SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking Poll, released Tuesday, shows:
  • Donald Trump: 50 percent
  • Ted Cruz: 26 percent
  • John Kasich: 17 percent
Trump's support had been hovering in the high 40s in the poll since March, suggesting he might have plateaued. His 4-point jump this week is a "significant" milestone, NBC reports.
