House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., says if Democrats get control of the chamber and she is elected leader, they will revise GOP tax cuts — blaming Republicans for not making middle class tax breaks permanent in the first place.

But she dodged a question on whether she would vote for any GOP measure to make the middle-class tax cuts permanent.

At the Peterson Foundation Fiscal Summit in Washington on Thursday, Peslosi said she wants to "revisit" the tax cut bill "in a way that puts the middle class first and reduces the debt," Bloomberg News reported.

A videotape of her remarks was posted by The Daily Caller.

"The reason they didn't make them permanent in the first place was because they were operating under reconciliation, and under reconciliation they could only have so much addition to the debt," Pelosi said of why the middle-class break was not made permanent by the GOP.

"In their priorities, they chose corporate America over middle-class families, because they couldn't do both," she continued.

Pressed on whether Democrats would vote on any GOP plan to extend the tax cuts, Pelosi dodged an explicit reply, saying instead, "With all due respect, you never know what they're going to do," suggesting the GOP would not even bring taxes up for a vote.

"I'm not going to be here talking about things that they may or may not do because we just don't know."
