Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., the minority leader in the House of Representatives, brought in $16.1 million for House Democrats in the first quarter of 2018, Politico reported Monday.
Pelosi’s total for the 2018 midterm election cycle is $66.7 million, which is outpacing Pelosi’s efforts in the 2016 election by $10 million, the report said.
The House minority leader is a top fundraiser for the Democrats, and is set to raise funds in New York, Boston, Tampa, and south Florida during the House recess, Politico’s report said.
Republicans continue to take aim at Pelosi, with more 34 percent of Republican ads in House races so far in 2018 mentioning her, USA Today reported.
Some Democrats have distanced themselves from Pelosi, including Rep. Conor Lamb, who won a House seat in Pennsylvania. During his campaign, he said he would not support Pelosi in future House leadership elections. "I think we need new leadership on both sides," Lamb said in January in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
