House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has announced new hires for her communications team, Politico reports.
The California Democrat said Ashley Etienne, her new communications director and senior adviser, is "uniquely equipped to lead House Democrats' efforts to expose the dangerous and incompetent agenda of the Trump administration."
Etienne will focus her work on oversight, ethics, Russia, and coordinating House Democrats.
Drew Hammill, Pelosi's deputy chief of staff, will work on sending Pelosi where she's needed and setting the Democratic minority on offense when it comes to discussing issues.
Hammill also praised Etienne: "Few people are better at being able to start a narrative than Ashley."
Caroline Behringer, Pelosi's new senior communications director, will be the contact person for Democrats for the Republican majority's plans on Obamacare and tax reform, according to Politico.
Pelosi issued a statement on the American Health Care Act proposal on Friday: "The more we learn, the more we see that the Republican Pay More For Less health bill will be a disaster for the American people."
