President Donald Trump turned the tables on Democrats' demands for a special investigation into his contacts with Russia, calling on Friday a probe into House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's ties to the Kremlin.
The commander in chief fired off a tweet that read:
His Twitter message includes a link to a Politico article with an accompanying 2010 photo that appears to dispute Pelosi's claim that she never met Russian ambassador, Sergey Kislyak, whose two meetings last year with then-Sen. Jeff Sessions are embroiled in controversy.
Pelosi has called for Sessions' resignation as U.S. Attorney General.
Trump's demand follows a similar tweet hours earlier in which he said Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer should also be probed. That Twitter note included a 2003 photo of Schumer with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
On Thursday, Sessions said he would recuse himself from probes into links between Trump's staff and Russia after The Washington Post revealed he had spoken twice with Kislyak during last year's presidential race.
Sessions, a major Trump supporter during the presidential race, had denied any contacts during his Senate confirmation hearings.
