The General Services Administration, an agency created to help manage and support the agencies of the federal government, will brief the leaders of four House committees about the presidential transition next Monday, USA Today said according to a copy of memo it had obtained.
The briefing was announced after House Democrats, critical of GSA Administrator Emily Murphy for not recognizing Joe Biden as the legitimate winner despite numerous lawsuits disputing results in several states, demanded Murphy's presence to explain developments by Monday.
The GSA informed the House members that Deputy Administrator Allison Brigati would conduct a 30-minute video conference on Nov. 30 for the chairmen and ranking members of the House Oversight Committee and its Government Operations Subcommittee, and the House Appropriations Committee and its Financial Services and General Government Subcommittee.
The criticism of Murphy has come from Republicans as well, including Sen. Rob Portman, who earlier Monday chided the GSA to provide the Biden campaign with funds and infrastructure.
