One of the nation's most competitive Senate contests is coming to an end, with all signs pointing to the re-election of Missouri's Republican Sen. Roy Blunt.

The final "Missouri Scout" poll showed Blunt edging Democratic Secretary of State Jason Kander by a margin of 47 to 44 percent. The last-minute surge for Blunt comes as the "Scout Poll" shows a GOP sweep in the making in the Show-Me State.

Not only did "Scout" show Donald Trump with a double-digit lead in the state, but the same survey showed Republicans leading in races for all five statewide offices on the ballot except one: that for lieutenant governor, in which Democrat Russ Carnahan, son of the late Gov, Mel Carnahan and former Sen. Jean Carnahan, leads Republican State Sen. Mike Parsons.
