A top adviser to the House Freedom Caucus is leaving Capitol Hill to work as press secretary for Vice President Mike Pence.
Pence's office confirmed the hiring of Alyssa Farah on Monday, The Washington Post reported.
According to Politico, Farah worked for the conservative caucus during the chairmanships of Reps. Jim Jordan of Ohio and Mark Meadows of North Carolina, helping transform the group into a political force.
As Pence's press secretary, she will provide a bridge to the group, the outlet noted.
She starts Oct. 2, according to Pence's office.
Farah has spent more than a year as the spokeswoman for the Freedom Caucus; before that, she was communications director for Meadows when he served as the caucus chairman.
