Former Vice President Mike Pence is starting a podcast hosted by the conservative youth organization the Young America’s Foundation, which he joins as the first Ronald Reagan presidential scholar, Politico reports.
“Vice President Pence has been a stalwart defender of individual freedom, traditional values, free markets, and limited government throughout his career of distinguished service to our country,” former Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin, who now runs the foundation, said in a statement. “Now, by partnering with YAF, the Vice President will continue to attract new hearts and minds to the conservative cause.”
He added that Pence’s “energy and enthusiasm for Ronald Reagan’s values has and will continue to inspire a new generation of young people.”
The former vice president also announced earlier this week that he will be joining the conservative Heritage Foundation as a distinguished visiting fellow, where he will advise on public policy.
Prior to his election to Congress in 2000, Pence spent several years as a Midwestern conservative radio personality on “The Mike Pence Show.”
His new show will cater to younger listeners than his previous program, and the YAF will sponsor the show in a similar way to how the group sponsored former President Ronald Reagan’s daily radio program during his time as California governor in the 1970’s.
“The vice president will certainly be focused on the conservative accomplishments of the last four years and projecting those accomplishments and lessons learned forward,” said a Pence spokesperson.
