Tax cuts and reforms will be a combined effort between Congress and President Donald Trump, and Americans will see a plan that will work to help people get back to work, Rep. Mike Kelly said Tuesday.
"We will work closely with the White House," the Pennsylvania Republican, who sits on the House Ways and Means Committee, told Fox News' "Fox and Friends" program. "We will do things and work with our colleagues across the aisle. They have got to go home and face their voters the same as we do."
The tax reform measures will come after repealing and replacing Obamacare, as both issues are very complicated.
"I'm from an area where you can walk and chew gum or you shouldn't be in leadership," Kelly said.
But at the same time, House Republicans will work together with the White House, and Trump is a president who wants to get things done.
"Whatever is in his power as chief executive he will do," said Kelly. "He's going to push people, absolutely. He has always been that way."
