Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds is hanging onto a slight lead with a few days of campaigning left before the election.
The Republican incumbent, who became Iowa's chief executive in May when former Gov. Terry Branstad resigned to serve as the U.S. ambassador to China, has 49 percent support in a new Emerson poll released Friday. Fred Hubbell, her Democratic challenger, comes in with 45 percent backing from likely Iowa voters.
Five percent of Iowans are still undecided, while 2 percent are throwing their support behind another candidate.
Reynolds was a member of the Iowa State Senate from 2009-2010 before being elected as Branstad's lieutenant governor. Hubbell has no experience as an elected official.
