Donald Trump held a "marathon" rally well past midnight early Monday in Virginia for thousands, almost three hours behind the scheduled time, the Washington Examiner reported.
"Hillary right now, she's fast asleep, she's sleeping beautifully," Trump said as he took to the stage in Leesburg.
"This is a marathon," he told supporters, adding, "We'll call this the midnight special speech."
The venue, which could accommodate 2,200 people, had a large number of supporters waiting outside police barricades at the entrance, the report said. Trump joked that the press, which were following him to five rallies in five states, looked exhausted.
Trump is scheduled to hit Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and New Hampshire on Monday, the Times reported.
The event, which had been scheduled for 9:30 p.m., had the crowd waiting until midnight. Lines began forming at 8 a.m. Sunday.
Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum lauded the audience for their patience saying, "Sleep is overrated. Donald Trump isn't going to get much between now and Tuesday. And if you love America neither will you."
Though Virginia appears to be safely in Clinton's reach, Trump has predicted an upset, according to CBS News.
"You have to get everyone you know to the polls," Trump said, adding, "We are going to have one of the great victories of all time. This is going to be Brexit times 50."
