Documentarian Michael Moore said Republican candidate Donald Trump "won" Monday night's debate against Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
Tweeting:
According to The Washington Post, Trump quickly ran ads online proclaiming "Trump Won" and inviting viewers to contribute to his campaign. He was voted as the victor in multiple online polls, including ones from the Drudge Report, Time Magazine and CNBC, though the Post questions their reliability, calling them "garbage polls."
Moore then pleaded with viewers to "do something" to prevent Trump from being elected.
He then refuted Clinton's supporters, most of whom congratulated their candidate for a strong performance.
During the debate, Moore complained on Twitter that Clinton was holding back, urging her to "pull out the long knives," and saying "too much preparation, too much class" just before the end.
In August, the filmmaker claimed to know "for a fact" Trump "never actually wanted to be president of the United States."
In a post on his website, Moore claimed "Trump was unhappy with his deal as host and star of his hit NBC show, "The Apprentice" (and "The Celebrity Apprentice"). Simply put, he wanted more money. He had floated the idea before of possibly running for president in the hopes that the attention from that would make his negotiating position stronger."
