Michael Reagan: 'Hillary Clinton Not Likable'

By    |   Monday, 13 October 2014 02:18 PM

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will struggle getting elected as president because unlike her husband, former President Bill Clinton, she's not likable, says political commentator Michael Reagan.

"People vote for people they like," Reagan told John Bachman on "America's Forum" on Newsmax TV Monday.

"Hillary Clinton is not likable," he explained. "She is not Bill Clinton. I know Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton is a friend of mine. Hillary is no Bill Clinton."

Political analyst Dick Morris, who also served as a political adviser to President Clinton, contends that the reason former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta is taking shots at President Barack Obama is because he is working on behalf of Hillary Clinton, but Reagan contends that Panetta is only saying what others have said.

"The fact of the matter is, everybody was saying what is being said by Leon Panetta," he explained.

"Everybody thought that the president of the U.S. was going in the wrong direction," he said.

"Politics is politics. If he's doing the bidding for Clinton, he's doing the bidding for Clinton," he added. "That's what politics is all about."

The son of former President Ronald Reagan thinks Obama will have trouble gaining control over the criticism he's been facing about how he's handled foreign policy matters.

"He really has no concept on what to do," Reagan explained.

"He thinks he's the smartest man in the room," he said. "He won't listen to the smarter people in the room. He won't listen to the joints chief, he won't listen to the leaders who are there talking to him, and he thinks he's the smartest guy in the room."

"As long as you think you're the smartest guy in the room and you don't need help, you're not going to change your dynamic," he contends.

"You're also dealing with a president who blames the United States of America for every ill in the world," he added.

According to Reagan, Obama "thinks he's doing the right thing and ultimately we'll all pay the price for it."

"All we can do is hope and pray that there's a new change in the Senate of the U.S., in 2016, somebody that can put a halt to what this president is doing and that we can change everything in 2016," he explained.

"Do we have that kind of time? I don't know," he said.
