Filmmaker Michael Moore has released footage he captured last year of mail-bomber suspect Cesar Sayoc Jr. at a rally for President Donald Trump, The Hill reported on Monday.
Moore wrote on his website that his film crew shot the video when they were filming for "Fahrenheit 11/9," his recently released documentary about Trump. Moore says the footage does not appear in the movie.
In the footage, Sayoc can be clearly seen several times holding an anti-CNN sign as the crowd shouts, "CNN sucks! CNN sucks!" Sayoc's sign is emblazoned with messages against Hillary Clinton as well.
Sayoc was apprehended in Aventura, Florida, last week. His van was reportedly covered with stickers supporting Trump and against both CNN and Democrats.
Moore discussed the fact that he was among those pictured on the van with targets over their faces.
"Needless to say, I was a bit shaken to see that Sayoc had placed a photo of me with a crosshairs target over my face on the side of his van," Moore wrote on his website. "Over the past 15 years I have encountered men like him many times. I stopped counting the death threats long ago."
Moore added that "Because of this target he put on me, the police and security people were looking on Friday to see if a package had been sent to me and, if so, is it still somewhere in the postal delivery system. So far, so good!"
