Michael Caputo said special counsel Robert Mueller knows "chapter and verse" about President Donald Trump's campaign and is in possession of every document produced, including "the entire campaign's texts."
The former aide to then-candidate Trump made the comments Thursday night on Fox News' "The Story With Martha MacCallum," detailing his interview with the Mueller team earlier in the week.
Caputo said Mueller's team knows "more about the campaign than any one person who worked there."
"They have all the documents that were produced, they have all the emails from everyone," Caputo told MacCallum. "They've got further documentation from people from outside the campaign - their emails, their texts.
"They have the entire campaign's texts. They know chapter and verse on the campaign. Yet it doesn’t sound like they have proof of collusion delusion," Caputo said.
Caputo said Mueller's team told him he wasn't a target but that he felt like they were looking for an opportunity to do just that.
"The Mueller investigation really wasn't trying to find something. Every question they asked, they already had the answer to," Caputo told MacCallum. "So from my perspective, they're quite direct in what they're doing. They still believe in this theory of Russia collusion.
"So from my perspective, that book is not closed yet," Caputo said.
Caputo, who earlier this week called his session an "awful experience," told MacCallum his interview with special counsel was an "intimidating session."
"So I'm quite over-cautious, frankly. It was very clear they didn't want me to talk about this stuff. … Talking about (his interview) chapter and verse is, let's say, highly discouraged," Caputo said.
