Michael Caputo, a former adviser for President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign, said Monday he believes FBI special counsel Robert Mueller's team has no collusion case against Trump.
"They don't have anything new, and what they thought might be new is not even factual," Caputo told Fox News on "America's Newsroom."
Caputo referred to an interview the Mueller team conducted with him.
"I got a lot of questions, all on collusion, none of them about the president, none of them about anybody with the last name Trump," Caputo said.
"There is no Russian collusion on the Trump campaign, there never was, and I don't think the Mueller team has anything," Caputo told Fox News.
The former campaign adviser also took aim at the investigation over the cost to those who are being interviewed.
"I'm just the only person out there talking about this," Caputo said in the Fox News interview. "There are another dozen or more people, middle-class families, whose dad or mom has been dragged into this . . . if you're not going to be investigated, if you're not going to be indicted, if you're not going to jail, they're going to break you financially.
"It's about ruining every single one of us."
