Maryland Republican Gov. Larry Hogan on Tuesday pushed back against President Donald Trump's claims there are no coronavirus testing issues.
Hogan, who is also the chair of the National Governors Association, made the comments during an appearance on NPR with host Rachel Martin.
"President Trump has suggested that the testing problems are over. They've been fixed. It's no longer an issue," Martin said.
"Yeah, that's just not true," Hogan said.
"I know that they've taken some steps to create new tests, but they're not actually produced and distributed out to the states. So it's an aspirational thing.
"So it's an aspirational thing, and they have taken — they've got some new things in the works, but they're not actually out on the streets, and that's — no state has enough testing," he said of the administration.
Trump on Monday during a conference call with governors said he had not "heard about testing in weeks."
"We've tested more now than any nation in the world," Trump added. "We've got these great tests and we're coming out with a faster one this week."
Reiterating his point, Trump added, "I haven't heard about testing being a problem."
