Rosie O'Donnell is calling on the White House to declare Martial Law in a bid to stop her longtime nemesis Donald Trump from being sworn in as the nation's 45th commander-in-chief.

The caustic comedian took to Twitter late Wednesday and told her fans:

Under Martial Law, which is imposed by the president, national military forces are dispatched when civil authority has broken down.

One of the most famous instances of Martial Law in the United States was its imposition during Southern Reconstruction after the U.S. Civil War. During World War II, what is now the state of Hawaii was held under martial law for close to three years following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

O'Donnell's demand is her latest the Twitter jab at the president-elect, who is scheduled to be inaugurated Jan. 20. Earlier this year, she tweeted:

She and Trump have been at each other's throats for years and have eagerly exchanged vicious insults.

Trump has made fun of O'Donnell's weight and called her "a pig," "a slob." and "a total degenerate."

O'Donnell, whose films include "A League of Their Own" and "Exit to Eden," has labelled Trump "an orange anus" — a crude reference to his unusual, flame-tinted hair color.
