Wages and salaries for middle-class families aren’t keeping up with the cost of living — and their dissatisfaction will power a blue wave in the House next month, Rep. Ben Ray Luján, D-N.M., predicted Sunday.
In an interview on “Fox News Sunday,” the head of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee said a strong economy isn’t roaring for working families.
"All across America hardworking middle-class families are still telling us that their wages and salaries are not keeping up with the cost of living,” he said. “My Republican colleagues this year do not have a voting record to run out that prioritized hardworking middle-class families."
"I'm confident the Democrats will win back the House this year,” he added.
According to Luján, Democratic candidates aren’t talking much about President Donald Trump on the campaign trail.
"There's no one that's going to talk more about Donald Trump than Donald Trump,” he said.
It “gives our Democratic candidates the opportunity to connect with their personal stories and talk about an agenda that is built around for the people,” he said. “And it's how we are going to be able to help lower prescription drug prices, lower health care costs, a strong infrastructure package and clean up Washington, D.C., with all the corruption."
