Liz Cheney Seriously Considering Run for Senate

By    |   Tuesday, 09 April 2013 12:55 PM EDT

Liz Cheney may be considering a run for the Senate, even though current Wyoming GOP Sen. Mike Enzi has said he intends to seek re-election in 2014.

An unnamed source told The Daily Caller that former Vice President Dick Cheney’s daughter is serious about running for public office. The rumors, according to the Daily Caller, apparently started after she purchased a home in Jackson Hole last year and have persisted as she's made the rounds recently of various GOP events in the state.

Currently in his third term, Enzi is considered one of the most conservative members of the Senate, and has won handily in previous election bids.

But Cheney is a conservative in her own right, having co-founded the "Keep America Safe" organization. She is also regularly seen on Fox News as one of its regular conservative contributors, usually offering her views on foreign affairs.

Cheney worked at the State Department during the George W. Bush administration as a deputy assistant secretary of state.
