Reacting to a harsh attack from Fox Business host Lou Dobbs, Sen. Lindsey Graham told reporters that the commentator "has a right to his own opinion," but that "people in South Carolina understand why it's important for me to get re-elected," The Hill reported on Sunday.
On Friday, Dobbs slammed Graham on Fox Business, saying "I don't know why anyone in the great state of South Carolina would ever vote for Lindsey Graham, adding that he "has betrayed President Trump at almost every turn."
He specifically criticized the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman for saying "he would get to the bottom of Obamagate [allegations that the former president improperly probed the 2016 Trump campaign] with the Judiciary Committee, which has been a year and a half, actually longer, of absolute inert response to these pressing issues of our day."
Graham, who is in a tight race to capture a fourth Senate term, said that "I don't really worry much about Mr. Dobbs," adding that he intends to return to campaigning on Tuesday after the Senate votes on Monday evening to confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.
Recent polls how shown Graham in a very tight race against Democrat Jaime Harrison, who set a Senate fundraising record by collecting $57 million in the third quarter of this year, according to the Daily Mail.
