Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said Tuesday he would advise President Donald Trump to not testify in the House impeachment inquiry, NBC News reported.
When asked by a reporter if Trump, who said he is strongly considering testifying before the committee should do so, Graham responded, "If I were him, I wouldn't."
Graham also mocked the entire Democratic-led procedure, saying "The allegation now is bribery, isn't that the new term they are using?"
Graham then went on to give his defense of Trump, saying, "Here is the question: Who did the president bribe and what did he get for it? Be specific."
He stressed, "I think bribery is a made-up political charge without any factual basis."
Graham explained, "the president of the Ukraine, who represents the government of the Ukraine, said that the president never put any pressure on him, never talked to him about investigating Hunter Biden or Joe Biden in return for military aid and they weren't investigated and the money flowed, so nothing has changed from my point of view."
