The caravan of immigrants heading through Mexico on its way to the United States' border is a crisis that is "really unparalleled," Corey Lewandowski, former campaign adviser for President Donald Trump, said Tuesday.
He also told Fox News' "America's Newsroom" that if Democrats now offered Trump the $25 billion toward border wall construction, the president would likely entertain that.
"Right now, we have a crisis heading towards our borders which is really unparalleled. We have hundreds if not thousands of people marching through Mexico and threatening to come into our country illegally," said Lewandowski.
"I would ask and encourage the president to put all the resources necessary that we have at our disposal."
That would include federal law enforcement agencies, as well as activating the National Guard to prevent people from coming across the border.
"I think this president before, we get that wall built, has to make sure these individuals who are threatening to come into our country illegally, are stopped by all means necessary," said Lewandowski.
He also commented about Trump's complaints about Amazon, telling the program that he agrees that Amazon should have to pay its fair share for using the U.S. Postal Service for deliveries.
"What the president said clearly is we have had a U.S. Postal System that has lost billions of dollars over the years," said Lewandowski. "The American taxpayers have underwritten it because it's an important component of our American fabric.
"But if Amazon is going to use it as their delivery method maybe we need to charge them a little more so the American taxpayers aren't ultimately subsidizing deliveries of Amazon."
Lewandowski Tuesday also commented about the realignment of the West Wing, saying both Larry Kudlow and John Bolton are "contemporaries" of Trump in the terms of age and experiences.
"They understand the president," he said. "They're on his agenda and I think what you will see is the president who is surrounding himself with individuals who fundamentally agree with his philosophy as it relates to world affairs.
"That's very important because he tried it the other way. He tried it the way they told him he had to do it because it's the way it's always been done. It didn't work. He is bringing in contemporaries to help him be more successful."
However, he said EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt will not be leaving soon.
"Gen. [John] Kelly and President Trump have assured him he is staying on right now," said Lewandowski. "I believe General Kelly is waiting for an inspector general report to come out of the EPA. Until that happens I believe Administrator Pruitt is safe in his position."
