Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, a Republican, lashed out at President Donald Trump on Friday for his ''ridiculous challenges'' to the election results that show him losing to Democrat Joe Biden.
''We need to have the transition begin as soon as possible. These kind of ridiculous challenges that are not based on fact need to end,'' Hogan told CNBC’s ''Squawk Box.''
The governor has been a frequent critic of the president, even considering mounting a primary challenge in the last year.
''We have to move forward with the transition,'' Hogan added. ''Like it or not, we cast the votes, we count the votes, and we live with the result. We’ve always had a peaceful transition of power.''
Trump has refused to concede the race to Biden, despite mainstream news outlets calling the race for the Democrat weeks ago. The president has launched over a dozen legal challenges to stop states from certifying the vote for Biden, but all have been unsuccessful as of Friday afternoon.
Newsmax will report the results of the presidential election when the vote is final.
